The 5 litres challenge
Company: South West Water
The task: On average, a person uses 150 litres of water a day. South West Water want to get that down. If every customer of South Wes Water saved only 5 litres of water a day - the same as 1 minute less in the shower - that would total 10 million litres saved! Small changes in water use make a difference when everyone plays their part.
Outcome: Created the concept, designed and implemented The 5 litres challenge, a multi-channel communications and engagement programme. Over a 3-year period, the campaign included yearly customer focus group research to test effectiveness of messaging and campaign propensity. There was extensive outdoor advertising, social media activity, radio and digital audio adverts, printed and online advertorials, campaign landing webpage, regular customer emails, community engagement, printed adverts in regional media, stakeholder (3rd party) promotion and much more. This was an agile campaign which adapted based on consumer insight and business water resource situation.
Year: 2019 - this campaign has been used for the last 3 years (2022). I worked on this project whilst employed at Pennon Group Plc, the parent company, the intellectual property of this project belongs to Pennon Group Plc.
